Stucco & EIFS Cost in Sarasota (2026): What Drives the Price
FESG Florida EIFS Stucco Group ·

The honest answer is that stucco pricing in Sarasota covers a wide range. Fixing one cracked corner and installing a full insulated EIFS system on a three-story apartment building are both called "stucco work", and so is everything in between. Below are the factors that actually move the number, so you know what to expect before you ask for a quote.
1. Repair or new installation
Repairs are priced by the work involved, not by wall area. A small crack repair with texture matching is a short visit. Cutting out a section of damaged EIFS, replacing foam and mesh, and blending the finish takes longer and uses more materials. Much of the cost of a small repair is getting a crew and materials to the site and matching the finish, so grouping several repairs into one visit is usually the best value.
New installation is priced by wall area, then adjusted for the system, the detailing, and access.
2. The system: cement stucco, EIFS, or EIFS with continuous insulation
| System | What drives its cost |
|---|---|
| Traditional cement stucco on block | Number of coats, barrier or bonding prep, control joints, and finish texture. |
| Direct-applied Sto stucco (e.g. StoPowerwall with Sto ExtraSeal) | Adds an air and moisture barrier layer behind the stucco for better water protection. |
| EIFS (Sto, Dryvit) | Barrier, foam board, mesh, base coat, and finish, which is more layers than cement, plus reveals and shapes cut into the foam. |
| StoTherm ci and other continuous-insulation EIFS | Same layers, plus insulation thickness. Thicker board costs more but improves the wall's energy performance. |

3. Insulation thickness
On continuous-insulation EIFS, board thickness is a real line item. On Ladona River Apartments we installed a full StoTherm ci system with 3-inch Sto EPS insulation board. Thicker insulation means more material and more care at windows, doors, and terminations, because every opening has a deeper return to wrap and detail. The payoff is a better-insulated building for its whole life.
4. Finish choice
A standard Sto or Dryvit textured finish is the baseline. Specialty finishes cost more because of the materials and the labor:
- Faux wood such as Sto's StoCast Wood, a cast wood-grain finish that is installed and then stained.
- Custom colors and color matching to an existing wall that has faded in the sun.
- Smooth or decorative finishes, which take more passes than a standard sand texture.

5. Access and height
Single-story walls can be reached from the ground or with ladders. Second stories, multifamily buildings, and commercial work need scaffolding or lifts, which add setup time and rental cost. Landscaping, pools, screen enclosures, and tight lot lines also affect how quickly a crew can work.
6. What is behind the wall
The biggest cost surprises in repairs come from what is found once the damaged area is opened: wet sheathing, rusted lath, or a failed barrier. We tell you up front when hidden conditions are possible and how they would be priced if we find them.
How FESG builds a quote
- Photos first. Send photos of the area or elevations, including close-ups. For many repairs this is enough to give you a realistic range.
- Site review. We confirm the system (cement, Sto, or Dryvit), measure, check access, and look for hidden damage.
- Written scope. Your quote lists the system, layers, finish, and repair method, so you can compare quotes like for like.
Comparing quotes? Check that each one names the system and the manufacturer. A low EIFS repair price that uses cement patching, or skips the mesh, is not the same job as a proper Sto or Dryvit repair.
