Stucco Exterior Makeovers
Give an older stucco home a modern new front without tearing it down. We add a new entry portal, trims and surrounds, re-skim the walls and finish them smooth with modern colors and dark accents, like this completed Sarasota job.
What this includes
- New entry portals and columns
- Window surrounds, bands and reveals
- Full re-skim over repaired stucco
- Smooth Sto finish and modern colors
- Granite black and dark accents
- Free design walkthrough

EIFS Stucco Installation
EIFS is a multi-layer exterior wall system that combines insulation with a reinforced base coat and textured finish. For new construction, additions, and exterior upgrades, we build the assembly around the project substrate and specified moisture-management details instead of treating EIFS as a surface coating.
What this includes
- Substrate inspection and preparation
- Water-resistive barrier and drainage details where specified
- Exterior insulation board installation
- Reinforcing mesh embedded in base coat
- Corners, openings, and transition detailing
- Acrylic finish coat and texture selection

Traditional Stucco Installation
Traditional cement stucco is a different wall system from EIFS. We install stucco for new walls, additions, remodels, and exterior renovations using the preparation and reinforcement required for the actual substrate, then build the cementitious coats and finish to the selected texture.
What this includes
- Masonry or framed-wall substrate preparation
- Lath and accessory installation where required
- Scratch and brown coats where required by the assembly
- Control, corner, and opening details
- Finish-coat texture selection
- New construction, additions, and remodel tie-ins

Stucco Repair & Finish Matching
Stucco repair starts with identifying what failed and how deep the damage extends. We repair cracks, holes, impact damage, deteriorated areas, failed previous patches, and remodel openings, then rebuild the affected area and match the surrounding texture and finish as closely as the existing wall allows.
What this includes
- Hairline and larger crack repairs
- Impact damage, holes, and localized deterioration
- Failed previous patch removal and correction
- Window, door, and remodel transition repairs
- Texture matching to surrounding stucco
- Best-match colour and finish blending

EIFS Repair & Restoration
EIFS repairs can involve more than the visible finish because the wall system contains insulation, reinforced base coat, mesh, and finish layers. We assess the damaged area, remove unsound material as needed, restore the affected layers, reinforce the repair, and blend the new finish into the surrounding elevation.
What this includes
- Impact and puncture damage repair
- Damaged insulation replacement where required
- Reinforcing mesh and base-coat restoration
- Crack and failed-finish repairs
- Repairs around penetrations and openings
- Texture and finish blending

Stucco Painting & Recoating
Painting or recoating stucco should begin with the condition of the existing wall, not the new colour. We inspect the surface, clean it, address loose coatings and repairable cracks or patches, prepare the substrate, and apply a compatible exterior coating system designed for stucco or EIFS.
What this includes
- Existing coating and wall-condition review
- Cleaning and surface preparation
- Loose or failing coating removal
- Crack and patch preparation before coating
- Compatible primer where the substrate requires it
- Exterior stucco paint or recoat application

Foundation Parging
Parging resurfaces exposed block and concrete foundation areas with a continuous cementitious finish. It can cover irregular masonry, restore deteriorated surface areas, and give the visible foundation a more uniform appearance. We prepare the existing surface first so the new parging is bonded to sound material rather than loose or failing material.
What this includes
- Block and concrete foundation surfaces
- Loose or deteriorated material removal
- Surface cleaning and preparation
- Bonding preparation where required
- Localized parging repairs or larger resurfacing
- Uniform finished foundation appearance

Architectural Mouldings & Trims
Exterior mouldings add shaped architectural details to EIFS and stucco façades. Depending on the project, we can install window and door bands, cornices, trim profiles, accent shapes, and other exterior details, then reinforce and finish them so they read as part of the surrounding wall system.
What this includes
- Window and door bands
- Cornices and horizontal trim
- Custom exterior profiles and accent shapes
- Reinforced base coat and mesh over foam shapes
- Integration with existing EIFS or stucco
- Texture and finish matching

Faux Wood Finishes
Faux wood finishes create the appearance of wood on exterior architectural accents without relying on exposed natural wood for the visual effect. We use them on compatible beams, soffits, bands, and feature details, with the exact preparation and finish system selected for the substrate and project conditions.
What this includes
- Exterior beams and beam wraps
- Soffits and feature areas
- Architectural bands and accent details
- Substrate preparation before finishing
- Wood-grain and tone selection
- Exterior-compatible finish system for the application

Commercial EIFS & Stucco
Commercial exterior work requires more than the wall finish itself. We review EIFS installation, stucco repair, restoration, and recoating scopes for multifamily, condominium, retail, hospitality, and managed properties, including access, sequencing, occupied areas, repeated elevations, and finish consistency across larger projects.
What this includes
- Commercial EIFS installation and restoration
- Multifamily and condominium exterior repairs
- Retail, hospitality, and managed-property scopes
- Larger-area stucco repair and recoating
- Access, staging, and work-area coordination
- Repeatable finish standards across elevations

Stucco Repair, Recoating or a New Exterior?
Repair damaged stucco or EIFS
Cracks, impact damage and loose patches call for a condition assessment. Local repairs may be suitable when the surrounding wall is sound. Repeated cracks, stains or signs of water entry need investigation before the finish is patched.
Stucco and EIFS repair →Recoat a sound, faded wall
If the wall is intact and the concern is faded color, algae staining or a worn coating, cleaning, preparation and recoating may be appropriate. Existing damage is addressed first, and the new coating must be compatible with the stucco or EIFS system.
Painting and recoating →Install a new insulated exterior
New construction, additions and larger exterior changes need a complete installation scope. We review the substrate, insulation, drainage details, openings, access and desired texture to plan the wall system.
Stucco and EIFS installation →What determines your stucco and EIFS project scope?
Every project depends on several factors. A small repair and a full insulated exterior need different materials, preparation and equipment. We review the property and the requested finish, including:
- Wall area, building height and access for scaffolding or equipment.
- Condition of the existing surface and the amount of removal or preparation.
- Wall system, insulation thickness, repair depth and compatible materials.
- Windows, doors, corners, trims and transitions to other exterior finishes.
- Finish texture, color, weather conditions and project scheduling.
Get a useful estimate from a local stucco contractor
- 1. Share your city and photos. Include an overview of the building, close-ups of damage, and the finish or insulation changes you have in mind.
- 2. Review the wall and access. A site visit helps establish the existing system, preparation, openings and equipment needed.
- 3. Agree on scope and scheduling. Discuss repair areas, materials, texture, color and weather-dependent timing before the work begins.

Stucco installation & exterior insulation6 questions
What services does FESG Florida EIFS Stucco Group offer?
FESG installs and repairs stucco and EIFS for homes, additions and select commercial properties across Southwest Florida. We also finish and repair foundation parging, provide compatible painting and recoating, and add faux wood finishes, mouldings and trims.
What is the difference between traditional stucco and EIFS?
Traditional stucco is a cement-based exterior plaster applied over a suitable masonry surface or lath assembly. EIFS means Exterior Insulation and Finish System: rigid exterior insulation, a mesh-reinforced base coat and a textured finish coat. They look similar from the street but are built, detailed and repaired differently.
Do you install stucco on new homes, additions and existing houses?
Yes. We review drawings for new homes and additions, or the condition of an existing exterior, before planning the installation. For re-cladding, the old finish, substrate, moisture condition and attachment requirements are checked first.
Can stucco or EIFS be installed over block, brick or old siding?
It depends on the existing exterior and the specified system. Sound block, painted masonry, loose stucco and framed walls behind siding each need different preparation and attachment details, and some existing cladding may need to be removed.
Does EIFS improve a home's insulation?
EIFS can add continuous exterior insulation and reduce thermal bridging through parts of the wall. The benefit depends on insulation thickness, the existing assembly, installation details and the rest of the building envelope.
Can you add faux wood finishes, mouldings and trims?
Yes. Faux wood finishes, mouldings, trim bands and reveals can be coordinated with the wall system and design. We review placement, drainage and finish details with you before the work starts.
Stucco repair, EIFS repair & restoration6 questions
Do you do small repairs as well as full installations?
Yes. We handle localized cracks, damaged corners, punctures and failed patches as well as larger exterior restorations. Repair depth matters as much as the visible area: EIFS damage can involve the finish, reinforcing mesh, base coat and insulation.
What causes cracks or damage in stucco and EIFS?
Common causes include impact damage, shrinkage, building movement, water entering at nearby details and weak previous repairs. A narrow crack is not automatically harmless, so we identify the cause before fixing it.
Can EIFS be repaired without redoing the entire wall?
Often, yes. Where the surrounding assembly is sound, the affected insulation, mesh, base coat and finish can be repaired with compatible materials and blended in. Where deterioration or moisture is widespread, a larger scope may be needed.
Can you match my existing stucco color and texture?
In many cases, yes. We aim for the closest practical match, but exact matches can vary because of weathering, sun fade and earlier repairs. A sample and a conversation about expectations help before the work begins.
Can I patch EIFS with a store-bought stucco patch?
Do not assume a cement patch labeled for stucco is suitable for EIFS. EIFS repairs need compatibility with its insulation, mesh, base coat and finish. Filling the visible hole alone can trap moisture and hide a bigger problem.
What stains or damage are common on Florida stucco?
Humidity, rain and shade can lead to algae and mildew staining, and storms can cause impact damage or wind-driven water entry at windows, doors and rooflines. We assess whether a wall needs cleaning, repair, recoating or a closer moisture review.
Painting, recoating, parging & maintenance6 questions
Should I repair, paint or replace my stucco?
A sound wall with localized damage may suit repair. An intact but faded exterior may suit cleaning, preparation and a compatible recoat. Widespread loose material, deteriorated insulation or recurring moisture needs a broader investigation first.
Do you offer stucco painting and recoating?
Yes. We assess the existing stucco or EIFS, previous coatings and repair needs before recommending preparation and a compatible coating. Cracks and moisture concerns are addressed before the color refresh.
How should stucco be cleaned before recoating?
The method must suit the existing finish and the coating manufacturer's requirements. Dirt, chalking and algae can interfere with adhesion, but aggressive pressure washing can damage texture or drive water into openings.
Which textures and colors are available?
Options depend on the selected wall system and compatible finish products. We discuss aggregate size, trowel texture, color, mouldings, trim bands, reveals and faux wood accents alongside your building's design.
Do you offer foundation parging and parging repairs?
Yes. We install and repair parging on exposed foundations for durability and a clean, finished look around the base of the home. Loose or peeling material is assessed and removed where required so new material has a sound base.
What maintenance does a stucco or EIFS exterior need?
Inspect periodically and after severe weather for changing cracks, open sealant joints, recurring stains, loose areas and impact damage. Keep gutters and drainage working and use cleaning methods suited to your finish.

How do you price your work?

How do permits and project requirements work?
Requirements depend on the project scope and your local jurisdiction. We review the proposed work and identify the details that need to be addressed before scheduling.
What do you need from me to provide an accurate quote?
Photos help, but the best quote comes from a site visit. Share your city, an overview of the building, close-ups of any damage and the finish you have in mind, and we will review scope, access and conditions.
